From Coach Jim Vance of the San Diego TriJuniors:
I'm pleased to announce the first annual San Diego Youth and Junior Triathlon Winter Camp and F1 Race!
The events will take place December 28-30th, a Wednesday thru Friday. Wednesday and Thursday will be devoted to the camp, where the athletes will spend 2 days working a lot on bike and swim, and then Friday will be the race at Fiesta Island.
Here's the info on the camp:
Here's where to register for the camp:
This will be a great camp, where we will have the Olympic Training Center facility for most of the day on Wednesday, followed by renting the entire pool on Thursday at Cathedral Catholic for 3 hours, plus using the track for some run skills.
We put these events during the week because it is the one time of year all kids will be out of school, and able to devote the time to the events. This also allows for other kids to attend from outside the area. The training and the race will also help to prepare our athletes for the upcoming season.
Here's the race event info:
The race will be an F1, but longer than our others, at 600m swim, 16K bike, and 4K run, a distance right in between Youth Elite and Junior Elite. There will also be a non-drafting, shorter race for youths, a 150 swim, 4K bike and 1K run. Please help us make this a great event, by passing the info along to athletes who might be interested in either or both events, as it will raise money for our program for apparel, equipment and other costs, like travel and more, if we can raise enough funds.
Please note, these are 2 separate events, which require separate registration.
